Show Your True Colours at the State of Origin, Game 3

Urban Fairways, Capital Tower, 168 Robinson Road, 9 July 2014, 5.30pm to 8pm

CAMARADERIE was the buzzword when close to 70 AAS Members, their guests, representatives of AAS’ sponsors, and 22 leaders of 16 Australian University Alumni Association (or AUAAs) gathered for our sports networking event held in conjunction with Game 3 of the State of Origin series.

Both onscreen (as the Queensland “Maroons” played the New South Wales “Blues”) and offscreen (in the cosy environment of Urban Fairways as old friends and new reacquainted over drinks and pies), the spirit of “friendship and trust” clearly prevailed. Laughter and conversation through the evening spoke volumes of the professional and personal connections being renewed and forged.

40 minutes into the game at the half time break, everyone present was fittingly treated to a Lucky Draw. Thanks to our generous event sponsor Central Equity, one of Melbourne’s largest and most experienced residential developers, which donated the top prize of 3 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne, and to Urban Fairways for their donation of a S$500 voucher and a polo shirt as 2nd and 3rd prize, 3 lucky guests walked home with an extra dose of cheer. Congratulations to our lucky winners: Lee Ee Meing (3rd prize), Jevan Hah (2nd prize) and Roy Chan (1st prize).

AAS would also like to thank our ever-supportive Term Sponsors:

  1. National Australia Bank (Platinum Sponsor)
  2. Heritage Trust Group (Gold Sponsor)
  3. James Cook University (Gold Sponsor)
  4. PhysioKit (Silver Sponsor)
  5. OceanMaster Engineering (Silver Sponsor)
  6. Trust Capital (Silver Sponsor)

as well as our friends at Austcham and ANZA.

Many thanks to all who took the time to participate, including AAS members and Management Committee members, AUAA leaders and representatives from our sponsors and supporting organisations.

A big shout out also to those who signed up and become our new members on the spot!

See you all at the next event!
